Bill was quiet practical and positive with a firm faith which influenced everything he did. He was determined to build a life after the devastating loss of Eileen to whom he was devoted. He relished helping with baking and became a firm favourite at the charity cream teas held at Tanglewood. His scones were second to none and he delighted in perfecting any recipe, making adjustments according to type of flour etc. Delivering trays of perfect baking hidden under a snowy white tea towel! A talented artist, carpenter, photographer and friend. A great role model and a pleasure to have known him. I treasure a painting he did , having taking a photo of the family home ,on my fathers death, a reminder of a special man.
